A product of the Council on Foreign Relations, World101 is a rich educational resource that teaches young people about pressing world events and issues so they can become more informed – and ultimately more empowered – citizens of the world. CFR’s Education team was faced with the challenge of how to present complex topics to novice audiences at an appropriate grade level and an easily understandable, engaging format. As an answer to that challenge, the team created interactive digital explainers on critical global issues, world history, and more.
Working collaboratively with content editors, designers, and production coordinators, I provided creative direction, content strategy, and project oversight for more than 50 interactive explainers. I provided guidance on storytelling, created guidelines for best practices in plain language, and improved accessibility for visuals.
